A Walk in the Snow

This week's The New Yorker cover, "A Walk in the Snow," by Mark Ulriksen, who has contributed more than forty covers to the magazine. His recent book, Dogs Rule Nonchalantly, explores the everyday interactions between man and his best friend.

Ulriksen explains his predilection for painting dogs: “Dogs give you their undivided attention,” he writes. “They watch your every gesture, read your every emotion, listen attentively to every word you say—until they hear the rustle of a bag of chips being opened.”
